Patty Kang’s entry into hospitality management began 10 years ago, half way around the world, as a Tourism and Marketing Intern for the largest travel agency in South Korea. Since then, she has had extensive experience in: food & beverage outlets, sales, fresh catering (corporate and private events), and food & beverage management. As Assistant General Manager of Outlets, Kang brings her vast knowledge and expertise to The Claremont Hotel, Club & Spa.
Kang manages the fine dining restaurant’s operations as well as the daily sales & labor reports and scheduling. She is in charge of running the daily room service operations while also administering the daily operations of the Bayview Café. Kang also leads the Claremont’s Green Team initiative group, which increases the awareness of sustainability and recycling.
Kang joined the Claremont in May 2012 after working as the Food & Beverages Outlets Manager for The Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to this role, Kang was a Food & Beverage Management Trainee for The Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites. Her impressive worldwide experience includes work as Banquets Intern for the JW Marriott in Seoul, South Korea, Sales/Catering Intern for Aramark in Chicago, Illinois, and Food & Beverages Outlets Intern in Seoul, South Korea.
Kang received her formal education at the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. She is proficient in Mandarin Chinese, fluent in Korean, and has a Professional floristry degree in Oriental, Western and European design.
